Roman Catholic priest Helped Document Harassment
A nice turn of events in EAST HAVEN, Conn. as the Roman Catholic priest gets his prayers herd.
Prosecutors dropped charges on Thursday against a Roman Catholic priest who was arrested while he was videotaping police officers here in an attempt to document what he called harassment of Hispanics.
The dismissal came as parishioners of the priest’s church announced that they had filed a complaint with the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division seeking an investigation of the East Haven town police on claims of brutality and racial profiling of Hispanics.
- The officers said in their reports that Father Manship was holding an “unknown shiny silver object”
