when you cant talk about Immigration without insulting someone , that really shows your character and your real intentions. Johnston County Sheriff Steve Bizzell Is a Racist Pig?
The American Civil Liberties Union of North Carolina Legal Foundation and other civil rights groups in the state on Tuesday filed a public records request with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office in the wake of what they deemed to be racially inflammatory statements from Sheriff Steve Bizzell.
Bizzell has indeed apologized, because even he understands what his “blanket assertions” were, wrong and hateful, period. If he had talked about the strains of “illegal immigration” on our county, his staff, and the costs to the taxpayers he would have been fine. But he crossed the line, made comments that were at least inappropriate, and at worst an embarrassment for someone in his position that smacks of unneccessary comments about race. Maybe Steve needs a plate of spaghetti or a taco to loosen up a bit. - [markcrouch]

I do think that officials should be careful , In a world where the first response is to insult and offend, it doesn’t hurt to guard comments. Painting any culture with a broad brush speaks of prejudice and could we trust someone who so carelessly dismisses an entire group of people? I think it is safe to say that the only people who have a first claim here are the Native Americans. Everyone else is an immigrant or a descendant of one.
Remember back to a time when German immigrants were not appreciated and the people thought their vulgar sausages and beer would ruin life in America. The German language was banned from the school curriculum and the anti-German sentiment grew throughout the early part of the 20th century. At that time, Germans made up 30% of the population. They changed their names to appear more American, discarded their native language and tried to disappear.
Remember Irish immigrants, those of Asian and Middle Eastern descent…
When we categorize people by their race or ethnic religion, we imply we are somehow better than that group or the other and we are the only ones who have a right to be here. What about those Mexicans? Engage those “illegals” in a conversation. Their hopes and dreams for their children are the same hopes we have for ours… I hope my children will grow up accepting the differences. What makes us distinctly American, is our diversity.
Sheriif Bizzell is a very popular sheriff in Johnston Co.He was reelected, because he is doing his job like no others before him did. The only thing that he is guilty of is to vocalize what the majority thinks. Agree, it was not “politically correct”But he is the one that has to deal with those people and sounds like he is highly frustrated.
I work at the Courthouse and I can tell you that Hispanics are by far the cases of DUI. We already gangs in this county like MS13.
This used to be a peaceful county , but the crime has been increasing as the Hispanic population increases.
Those people come from third world countries , where corruption
and crime is rife, and many bring their bad habits with them

Steve Bizzell is no different than the rest of us.He has his views,makes mistakes and is entitled to his own opinion.No matter what and was ask to protect the citizens of Johnston County.Thats what he does.He watches out for JOHNSTON COUNTY.You can abide by the rules like everyone else or suffer the consequences.Why is he any different than Jesse Jackson or the idiots that he accompanys?What about the times like the Duke Lacrosse case?Jesse and those idiots NEVER apologized to anyone after all the racial allegations they made.Then to find out is was a lie.Did the average white man want there job?Want a public apology?Hell no,we KNEW we wouldnt get one.And didnt even push to have the prostitute serve jail time.I guess now everytime a person with any authority makes a comment it has to be dissected.

Steve Bizzell is the best sheriff this county has ever had. I agree with other’s comments. What he said is exactly how I feel. I’ve had enough of illegal hispanics, the crime they bring, the drain on social services and welfare, and the way they parade around like we owe them, when they won’t even attempt to speak our language. Call me a racist or what you will, but I don’t LIKE you. I don’t like seeing you in the emergency room with a bunch of sniffiling kids. I don’t like seeing you involved in traffic accidents and never having licenses or insurance. If you are here legally, then more power to you. Sheriff Bizzell could have used better insight as to who he was talking to (the media). But as sherriff he and his deputies have cleaned up Johnston Co and made it a healthy place for my family.
Illegals have no place in America, make it uncomfortable to live here and they will leave. They are sucking this country dry and will contiue to do so until we stand up and stop the freebies and the politically clap trap that we provide them. Go home and fix your own countries and quit destroying ours.
You can tell exactly which houses the Hispanics in my neighborhood live in. Do you know why? Because their houses look “trashy”. They each have about five junk cars in their yard and there is assorted junk/trash strewn all over the place. They rarely cut their grass. It is very frustrating for people who work hard to pay their mortgages to have to watch their property values plumment because of lack of pride of ownership or, perhaps, simply ignorance on the part of their neighbors. We do have one Hispanic couple who work very hard to keep their home in pristine condition but, believe me, they are the exception to the rule.

Bizzell should never have apologized. It’s a sign of weakness, and unfortunately, only whites seem to do it.

Sheriff Bizzell is the best thing to happen to Johnston County as far as law enforcement and he is a good and decent man. We elected him in the past and if an election were held today we would reelect him, no question. He has done an outstanding job for our citizens, all of them. I think a majority of the citizens here would agree that we need him out there protecting us. Would he take back his comments if he could? Probably. Is he sorry for making them? Yes, I’m sure. Should he get back to business doing the excellent job he has done? Absolutely. Will I vote for him again? Yet bet.
This election has got out of hand. When you have started calling people names, Where does that put you? God will put the man he want in office no matter you want. So before you start calling people name, it would be best that you get down on your knees and start praying that the right man is put in office. I came very close to deathing in 2000. I have known Steve for about 20 years and have never once heard him say anything negative about anyone.This county has great leadership with Steve Bizzell as Sherriff. He has been a great opponent of all citizens drunk driving and is working to keep our families safe.We citizens should be grateful.
I work in retails and I witnessed 3 hispanics pay for 3 cases of Budweiser and walk out and drive off without the beer. Just concerned about who is driving while impaired and dont appear to be Thanks
