Anaís (born Anaís Martínezon June 22, 1984 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) is the winner of the second season of Objetivo Fama, a Puerto Rican reality-show-contest that airs on Univision Puerto Rico in Puerto Rico and on the Telefutura network in the U.S. mainland.

She is a dancer, singer, actor. She was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic but now lives in The Bronx, New York. Her debut album Así Soy Yo(”The Way I Am”) was released on April 14, 2006. It contains the singles “Atrapada”, “Lo que son las cosas” (”The Way Things Are”), “Estoy con él y pienso en ti”, and the latest single “Estar contigo”. “Lo que son las cosas”, which originally is a cover from Luis Márquez Angel, charted and peaked at number 79 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Hot Latin Tracks chart. Latino activists and politicians are demanding major alterations to U.S. filmmaker Ken Burns’s WWII series on PBS, The War, to include Hispanic vets.

The 14-hour series is slated to air in September and PBS has already been promoting it, with Burns showing snatches of his film in museums and to military cadets. A book based on the series will also be launched simultaneously. More…
